PROJECT BRIEF:
Design the packaging for a self-curated album
based on the songs of your choosing.
For this project, I wanted to challenge myself by designing in a style I had never done before. As an avid fan of old grunge and emo music, I decided to curate an album that utilized the hardcore visual styles associated with these genres to push myself outside of my usual soft and colorful design style.
When developing the concept, I went through all of my concert photos and picked a few to include in the poster booklet, while the album cover is a painting I did a few years prior. I then added many halftone effects, monochrome filters, and rough textures to emulate the visuals of grunge and emo design.
